If the standard uofc (use of force continuum) I saw in a video regarding your department and a civilian, who was turning himself in, is common practice then your department should be getting 5 star reviews. However I highly doubt that the escalation of force I witnessed is in your policy. Gotta love police brutality. ( last sentence was complete sarcasm, I hope those two gentlemen pursue this matter and the Hopatcong borough face severe repercussions for this blatant use of unlawful force)

The video of the obese officer punching a young man dressed in a costume to turn himself in is disgusting. I am a pro law enforcement individual, but this conduct is disgusting and unbecoming of one who is supposed to be trusted by the public. His actions speak more as a bully that needs to be checked. As a Marine Corps veteran I am ashamed that this police officer was even able to meet the minimum standards of becoming a trusted, measured, disciplined, law enforcement officer. District Attorney take the appropriate action and make an example of this kind of behavior. I hope that this family sees justice and the officer is stripped of any and all authority.
From the videos I've watch these people will beat the hell out of you for nothing. I wouldn't get arrested here if I were you. MOVE OUT NOW!!!!
Thoroughly disgusted
Just saw the YouTube video in which the Hopatcong Police officers assaulted a local guy, paving the way for yet another lawsuit for the taxpayers. Sure, the victim was an immature jerk, but the police reaction was just crazy. Pretty obvious that this is the way these cops operate on a daily basis. Just poorly-trained, low-IQ bullies who become small town cops so that they can relive their elementary school glory. They know nothing will happen to them, because this is the culture in the entire police department. The taxpayers will suffer, not the thugs with badges. Disgraceful.
